PCMI was founded on the premise that most construction projects, especially competitively bid projects, can gain significant benefit from preconstruction expertise. While general contractors are good at competitive pricing, they often lack the preconstruction expertise necessary to guide projects to successful outcomes. Conversely, construction managers typically provide competent preconstruction services, but only for the projects they build.
